I've been using Limewire for some time with no problems.
Now it keeps disconnecting and telling me my machine does not appear to have an internet connection, and my internet connection is frozen as well. The only way out appears to be to re-boot my PC and start again.
Anyone any ideas please.

Here's some things to consider trying in the meantime ...
(a) Tip: Purge the Downloads Queue!
(b) Defragment all your Hard Disk Drives.
(c) Keep shares not much more than or below 2,000.
(d) Try deleting your LW Preferences folder whilst LW is closed; instructions here: Point #2 & 3 in Fixes for Limewire (sample image included at bottom of page.)

Still disconecting every few minutes, tried updating Limewire but thats when the problem started so I reverted to 4.9.

7. Where are you trying to connect from (house, appartment complex, school, student accomodation, work, etc.)? (House)
8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version. (Liimewire Pro 4.9- Java 5.0 Update 10)
9. Who is your ISP provider (Internet Service Provider)? (Tiscali)
10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? (Pass)
11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up. (Not sharing)
12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. New problem)
13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? (Yes)

Can not connect at all now, tried just about eveything I can
