I probably should have suggested this earlier, but get your system checked out at Norbie's site. You may still have some remnant virus files or damaged files. Go to NorbiesWorld (click on link) & follow his directions carefully. You will need to register at his forum.

After your system is given the all clear. Reinstall from scratch after removing all LW files including preferences folder.

GUESS WHAT!!!!! I FIXED!!!!!!! sort of hehe
2 things i did, i think was second that has fixed things
i) ,,, deleted j2se development kit 5.0 280mb
ii) ,,, deleted ALL files associated with limewire ie, i had changed the default saving positions on my initial working version. thus when i deleted limewire, these changed folder locations remained. I deleted all these changed locations

hey presto! installed limewireWin-full and limewire works again Kooky hey?
I do however have one other question
All my incomplete files i stored, how can i have limewire recognize these files and take up the download again,, ive tried dumping them into the defaulyt limwire\incomplete folder

Lastly, Lord of the Rings, thank you very much for yor time and advise, you are truly a big positive for limewires owners

The way to add incomplete files from a different location is 1st to quit LW. Then replace the new incomplete folder with the old one. A total replacement which includes the download.dat & bak file. Then re-open LW. If you did this whilst LW was open it won't work.
