Default .exe files

A newcomer to LimeWire, and a very impressed newcomer at that, I am concerned that searches for movies frequently show a download available as an .exe file, usually 228Kb. Would I be right in assuming that this would allow me to download a movie direct from somebody, presumably faster than the normal download method, and is it safe to do so? Obviously I have read the many warnings regarding the download of executable files on P2P networks. Thanks in anticipation to you guys that know more than us newbies.

Be extra careful when d/loading exe files, 99% of them are either fake files or viruses, the one you describe 228kb is not a valid file, unless of course it is a one page document! Go here to read on how to check your anticipated d/loads http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=37676
