Default VIEWING VIDEO FILES - please help

Hi all,
This may seem like a ridiculous question, but how do I view video files?? I have installed Limewire today and I am able to listen to music files; however when I try to watch video files nothing happens. This may seem like a stupid query as the video files I have downloaded are either Win media player or Media player classic - both of which I have installed.

I have downloaded VLC media player and my shareaza files have automatically switched to this - I can view video type files on Shareaza without any problems. VLC player, however, has made no difference to me being able to view video files on LimeWire.

There must be something simple that I am missing - can anyone advise..............Please!!!

I believe that these applications are just your default programs for viewing these type of files. That doesn't mean that these applications have access to the correct codecs in order to display the video. Try right-clicking on the actual files and select 'properties'. From there you can change which application you want to open that file type.
