It won't open... This is my first post here, so...hi. I downloaded LimeWire and it was just find through the downloading process, yet when I try to open it through the desktop link, it won't open, I don't get a warning or error message, LimeWire just won't open. Does anyone know how I could fix this? I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling it with no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated. |
Go to Start>Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs and uninstall all versions of Java then uninstall LimeWire. Go to the Java button in my signature and click on it, choose the manual link and get Java (JRE) choose the offline installer and save it to your desktop. Reboot your computer when it comes back install Java using the installer you saved on your desktop then install LimeWire |

It wont open Hi I've been having exactly the same problem. I've been trying all day to find out the problem. My shortcut still won't work but I've discovered a hidden icon on the taskbar at the bottom right of my screen. When I use it Limewire opens. Hope this helps |
i figured it out Some how somebody changed the properties for the icon to run with windows 98/ME and I have XP. They should put that in the problem solver because I went through all that crap and that is all the problem was. Thanks for trying to help. |
