Burning issues...

Hi

I'm new to this and I have a question. I have downloaded some songs I wanted to burn to a cd. The problem is that after about the 12th song, the rest of the songs are filled with static. And the last song just wont play at all.
I only put about 15 songs on the cd and I had enough room for them. I burned them with Windows Media Player 11. I even lowered the burn speed. And then I tried Nero 6.0 - the same thing happened. I was wondering if anyone has any ideas. Your help would be appreciated:)

Are the remaining songs that sound like static the same format as the rest of the songs...ie mp3...

It could also be a matter of the actual disc and it's quality......

WMP can sometimes be fussy with some files, just try using itunes it will usually play what WMP rejects....
All you need to do is create the playlist and press burn...:rolleyes_2:

Let us know if this helps....

I use TDK data cd-r's. All of my downloads are mp3's. I think WMP automaticaly converts them to an audio cd. Does it matter if I use data cd-r's because I also see music cd-r's at the store. I dont know if it's my downloads or if my cd burner going out on me. BTW, I always download 128kbps songs. Is that ok? I only have dial-up also because I cant get dsl out where I live. Does it matter if I download songs that say DSL/Cable, T1, etc... What cd-r's would you recommend? Sorry for all the questions. Im new to this:D

TDK aren't that good a quality...Try using Imation or Vertabim...But before that just try the itunes it may make a difference and it's free you can always uninstall it later if you don't like it...

I think there could be a difference between Data disc's and Music ones, I'm not to sure....
Give those options ago and see how you go...:rolleyes_2:

Hi

I installed itunes like you said and I still get the same problem. I usually try to burn on a cd-rw first to see what it sounds like. No change. I was wondering if it is ok to add songs from another cd to add to the playlist. For example, I wanted to add a couple songs from my black sabbath album to the playlist of songs I downloaded. Is that ok? It's weird because the cd only messes up on the last songs. But if I were to flip those songs around to the top, they sound fine. No matter what song I put on the bottom of the playlist, it sounds bad. I am at a loss. Could my cd burner be bad? This really sucks:bangh:

It sounds like the disc quality...Try getting one of the brands I named earlier, get the RW's so if they do mess up, you can re-use them once this problem is sorted...
I wouldn't think if it's your burner, it wouldn't make sense that it's only the songs it does it to...

Hi

I just wanted to thank you for your suggestions, wondering why. I went out to about 5 or 6 stores to find some cd-r's and I could not find any vertabim or imation cd-r's. So I went ahead a purchased memorex cool colors music cd-r's. Got home and burned the same playlist from last time and... no problems at all:D I guess different brands do make a difference. Again, thank you for your help:xeri_ok1ani:

take it easy...
