downloads fine/won't completely install/mac OSX hi, been using limewire for a while, but with my new macbook, i haven't been able to update since limewire version 10.2, a long time, here's what has happened: -i would download an updated version, double-click install, and it says it completes installation, but when i re-opened limewire, it the version indicator still said it was running 10.2. -i put up with it for a while, but got tired of it and figured deleting limewire and re-installing might be the solution a few weeks ago. well, baaad idea. -now, it goes through the download fine, and appears to install fine, but NO limewire icon shows up and every time i click on anything associated with limewire, it just wants to install again. nothing happens, no limewire at all now. ugh, help! i'm now running OSX 10.4.9, btw. |
Double-click the harddrive icon, open the Library, open the Receipts folder, then find the file: Install LimeWire.pkg, delete any you see. Then reinstall LW with the latest version. Receipts folder sample image. Also be sure you're using Java 1.5, see Setting up Java 1.5. However I think it now becomes default anyway. Let us know how it goes. :) Oh & after installing LW, do a SAFE Boot & Repair Permissions before running LW. ;) |
