only one green bar all the time!!need help
 

i just got a new laptop and want to have limewire on it but i downloaded it and there is canstantly only one connection bar and i odnt get any search results bak. Need help in dummy language cuzz not very good wit technical stuff. HELP! i dont kno wat to do!!!:bangh:

Start off by making sure you're only using 1 software firewall & that it's configured to allow LW. Have a look through this thread...heaps of info about connection problems. It's worth reading;)

1. OS version? (eg: Windows 98) Windows Vista
2. What firewalls you have? Norton Anti-virus
3. How much ram? i dont know
4. Hard Disk space available? i dont know
5. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.) wirelessly from my dads computer
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? i dont know
7. Where are you trying to connect from (house, appartment complex, school, student accomodation, work, etc.)? home
8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version. LW versioon 4.12.11 and Java version 1.6.0 -oem
9. Who is your ISP provider (Internet Service Provider)? Interenet Explorer
10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? it says my test worked
11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up. I am connected to the internet wirelessly from my dad's computer and my brother is also using the same wireless (my brother has limewire and his works fine)
12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user
13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface?
