Question Lime Wire Pro (worth it?)

I am currently running Lime Wire 4.12.11 on a cable connection @ 100.00Mbps with downloads peaking @ 250KBs. Do you think the Pro version would significantly increase this speed? And by how much? Any advise before I make a purchase would be greatly appreciated.

On a T3 connection, Pro will let you download from 14 hosts compared to basic's 10. So there's the potential for faster downloads, if you're downloading from more hosts. But honestly, buying Pro's not going to send your download speeds through the roof

Pro also connects you to 5 ultrapeers, compared to basic's 3. So there's the potential for better search results. If you're searching for rarer files, it'll make more of a difference. If you only search for popular stuff, you probably won't see much of a change.

Lots of people see buying Pro more as a donation to continue LW's development

Significantly? Not too likely, except with large popular files.

Still, Pro is worth it just to encourage the developers to keep at it

Sounds like a wise investment. This is by far the best p2p software I've ever used. Is there a forum where peers discuss files that they are looking for? Thanks for a your insight.

LimeWire has a built-in lookup to Bitzi. Right-click a file in the search results to see if there is user-generated info on that file.

Public discussion of files that may infringe copyright is forbidden by the rules in this forum, but who knows what happens with Private Messages?

Does Lime Wire Automatically choose optimal connection speed?
