Problem opening LM

I have had Limewire on this computer before, and it worked fine.
I guess I deleted it while doing a major clean up.
Now when I down load it, it seems to go OK, installing, unpacking and so forth, but I can't get it to open.
I have windows XE , and a Verizon connection, or AOL dial up.

im having trouble with my limewire everytime i type in a songs to be downloaded it has an gold lock on the top of the songs that they have found for me, plus when i try to play my cd that i've burn it won't let it play on me stereo could you please help me out the last version of limewire that i had was an 4.12.8 know im on 4.12.11 and i dont want this one.

Try these fixes: Reinstall Java. Use the JRE offline installer & remove your current Java version before installing the new one.

Delete LW's preferences folder. See point 3 below (also point 2 if you've used much older versions of LW in the past). This will kill all of your settings within options, you'll have to go back through & reset things afterwards.
Fixes for LimeWire

Now reinstall LW & make sure to use the offline installer.

If that doesn't help, try changing compatibility. That's point 5 in the 'fixes' thread.

If it's still not opening, have you installed/updated any security programs lately? Make sure that LW's on the exceptions/allowed list for any antispyware etc.
