Hi. I am new to Limewire but not to downloading. I have been away a while, and I see there are things I need to brush up on. I do have an immediate problem that I hope soomeone can help me with.

I dl the free version to try it out before I bought LW Pro. I have ran the program twice now, and both times I lost internet connection. (Wireless connection, including VOIP service. Had to unplug and reset modem, router, and VOIP modem.) Is this:

A) The crap you get for free. Upgrading to Pro will correct
B) Something wrong with my connection. Just a fluke that it happened when LW running.
C) Corrupt file
D) None of the above. Insert theory here.

P.S. I am also using Mcafee firewall, which I have instructed to always grant access.

Pro allows you to connect to 2 extra ultrapeers (potentially better search results) & allows you to download from a couple of extra hosts. I wouldn't think about upgrading until you're familiar with basic & happy with the way it performs

Thanks. I also got to thinking as I was reading the many many pages that I may be getting bad files. Could this cause the problem. I made all suggested changes and will try again. I'll give the info if I still have problems.

Well, after I made the changes I got on LW for a few hours last night and it did great. Thanks for the help!
