:bangh:I am using a Toshiba P100 160 32 bit. IE 7, 1.6GHz, 1GB. I google Limewire and select Download (basic, not Pro so I'm a chepskate). Anyway's, After a moment or 2 I get 'Internet Explorer cannot display web page'.
But I am connectede and this is the only site I cant get onto. I unistalled my Norton Security that came with my Laptop and switched the MSW firewall off. I have even tried setting a port but do not know the port number but have made LW an exception, all to no avail!!!!! When I first got my Lappie, I installed LW no probs and downladed a few tunes. However as a result of attending a different site, I got a virus and unistalled everything. Since then I have not been able to get LW. I have been on this for 4 days:eek:. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!:mad::confused:

IE 7 is probably blocking the web page it may be a known scam site. Try the link below and see if you can access LimeWire from there. If you cant try turning off the phishing filter on IE 7

Still no joy. Any other ideas? Phishing filter was off, tried ur link but nothing???? Large clumps of hair in my hands!!!!!!!!!!!!

Uninstall IE 7 and reinstall IE 6

SORTED..................(by my nephew who is 10 years younger than me) I have spent 4 days and he literally spent 4 mins (no joke, he did!!!) I feel like a right lemon. I removed Norton (though there was no need) but my lappie is running a lot faster. I had installed PC Tools Spy Doctor and PC Tools Firewall Plus. It was basically the MS Firewall that was stopping it. THough I had removed this before, I did not fully reboot. DOH!!!! Though I did download via thrid party site, not directly from LW!!!. I have my Phishing filter and all the other security's on....Happy days......No need to unistall IE7. Everything is the same, just removed Norton no sure if that helps) and disabled the MS Firewall. Thanks for your help tho Gramps...A very happy Londoner!!!!!!!!
