Can't Open File I HAVE DOWNLOADED, UNZIPPED AND IT IS IN A FOLDER BUT THE FILES IN THE FOLDER WON'T OPEN BECAUSE THERE IS NO EXTENSION:yikes:. USING XP AND LIME WIRE IS NOT LISTED SO THAT I CAN MAKE AN EXCEPTION WITH FIREWALL BUT THERE IS A BRICK WALL ON THE BLUE WORLD. WHERE DO I GO FROM HERE????? HELP PLEASE! THX |
say what? you downloaded something....and complain you can't use it, and then in the next breath you state you can't download because of a brick wall...ummm...yeah... in XP goto your control panel choose folder options then choose the view tab, then uncheck the box that says 'hide extensions for known file types' |
Please be patient with me, I'm almost 70 and my neural pathways are dissolving as I speak. I wanted to communicate that windows did not seem to be aware of my download. So, I did what you said and was able to open the files but they were in programmers code and not useful to me. So, I guess my question now is how do I open the files so that I can actually use them? |
