say what?

you downloaded something....and complain you can't use it, and then in the next breath you state you can't download because of a brick wall...ummm...yeah...

in XP goto your control panel choose folder options then choose the view tab, then uncheck the box that says 'hide extensions for known file types'

Please be patient with me, I'm almost 70 and my neural pathways are dissolving as I speak. I wanted to communicate that windows did not seem to be aware of my download. So, I did what you said and was able to open the files but they were in programmers code and not useful to me. So, I guess my question now is how do I open the files so that I can actually use them?
