trouble installing limewire pro.. please help i've tried everything i can think of..
 

ok well i bought limewire pro maybe about a week ago got my e-mail with my download page yada yada.. of course click the download site and everything came up fine click run so the installer would run it goes trhough its little bit the installer pops up asking what language i choose english and off we go, until it gets a little bit through and messages start popping up that say error opening file for writing.. i've been trying to fix the problem for a week on my own and can't so can someone please tell me if they know how i could possibly fix this problem.. greatly appreciated

Install this version of Java first. Use the JRE offline installer & remove any other Java versions before installing this one.
Archive: Download Java 2 Platform Standard Edition (J2SE) 5.0 Update 11

Now, delete LW's preferences folder when LW's properly closed. See point 3 here & also point 2 if you've used older versions of LW in the past (there could be a folder in either location).
Fixes for LimeWire
This will kill all of your settings within options, you'll have to go back through afterwards & reset things. If you're not sure of your settings, go through LW's tools > options & write them all down, so that you can reset things later.

Now reistall your Pro & see how it goes;)

ok so i did everything that said and it finally went through the installation and i clicked finish and then i hit run limewire and then nothing absolutely nothing happens no hourglass like something is trying to open or anything it just doesn't do anything.. what now?

Ok, try changing compatibility or running as admin (points 5 & 6 in the 'fixes' thread).

Otherwise, try using the 'other' installer. That's the option at the bottom of the list on your Pro personal download page.

well now i did the steps 4 & 5 in the fixes one and now it says Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item. so now i still can't open it or do anything with it still confused..
