Now my simple problem...
Limewire was working fine and I was able to download. Having no problems with connecting, firewall configured and ports also. I downloaded some files that weren't what they said. When I clicked on a file I started to have buffer Overflows and my programs failed. I noticed it was only attached to media files and applications, root file of dll32. To eliminate this I deleted the shared folder that had all the dowloaded files. This fixed the overflows. When I restarted Limewire it stops at the load screen with 12% Html engine. No prompts, no progress. I uninstalled and reinstalled to no avail. UAC is not prompting me for any replies and I can get nothing to happen. Anyone familiar with this. I tried looking through the forums but most threads are about firewalls and lack of connection. There are thousands of pages so if this has been addressed I did not get to that page. Task manager does not show the program as running but the reinstall said a previous version was running.

Any help would be swell!

sounds like something very nefarious has happened here...

do you have a system restore point set? if so, use it to see if that solves your problem...

if that doesn't then ask yourself the following: how long are you prepared to try and ferret this out and how long will it take you to do a clean install of your OS....I usually choose the clean install route as that guarantees success....

Here is what I have discovered. After purchasing Pro--The MAN wins again--and installing it...it gives me an error that my shared folder is corrupt or does not exist. I chose a new folder and it installed and works fine. I wonder if the original limewire was encountering that error and just not prompting a response? Either way it's fixed now--I am out 24.95 but am getting incredible(to me without t1 or t3)speeds and I feel that it has something to do with me deleting that folder.

Only the limewire Gods will ever really now....

Plan B:it was an ellaborate hoax by a huge corporation to sap me outta my benjamins!! Well..maybe just a twenty and four ones with some change!!!

nah....LimeWire has no control over the content of the network..and I'm surprised the install of pro made the difference...

the deletion of the folder, according to your first post, only solved the buffer overflow, yet you had the lockup @ 12% html engine....
