Default limewire closes when connecting to peers

Hello, my first time here hello all. Can anyone help have downloaded limewire pro and every time we click on lw it opens up and as soon as it connecting to peers it closes. we have tried the firewalls (windows xp pro and mcfee), re-installing java and limewire still no luck. we used to have limewire but got problems when we updated hence we removed and purchased pro. We have a wireless beklin router but the other 2 computers on this router still get the older version of lw. Any ideas Thanks

These are all contained within the sticky Connection problems? Check here first! but possibly some people are getting a bit confused or lost when we direct them to this sticky & ask them to provide their details.

This information can be vital
For instance, some ISPs are known for blocking p2p/throttling bandwidth, some connection devices are known for being unreliable in certain situations.

So please, help us to help you & provide as much info as you can.
If you're new to LW or new to computers & aren't sure how to answer some questions, or don't know what an ISP or router is - just say so. Nobody's going to yell at you
Even if you can't answer all the questions in one go...don't worry. Do the best you can & we'll take it from there.

Well first thing I see is that you have two firewalls. Best to disable Windows firewall and make sure you allow full access for Limewire through Mcafee.
With the wall infront of the globe, means bad or no connection.

User Cant Connect - LimeWire.

Try this and if no results post back.

Can you give the model # on the Belkin? Thanks

Hi Jacky, I hope you are slightly dyslexic LOL because this is what I found on your router. Could it possibly be this?? If not then I deserve a tongue lashing LOL. See below to portforward your router.

Jacky, I know your getting hit with a lot of different fixes but hang in there. Here comes a few more.
It almost sounds like a Java issue but in an earlier post I thought you said you tried the Java fix. See links below.

Try these fixes

Try UNINSTALLING all versions of Java from the add/remove programs and then re-install the JRE 5.11 offline version....
Archive: Download Java 2 Platform Standard Edition (J2SE) 5.0 Update 11

If that does not help with your problem try deleting your preference folder/s...

I'd also give this ago...

Try installing PeerGuardian, it will help keep the fake hosts out...Remember to enable PG just before you start limewire up...
Phoenix Labs » PeerGuardian 2

Another thing if you are using limewire 4.13 and later you can apply this hostile list...
