I previously joined "Limewire" a couple of years ago and paid the "one-time" lifetime subscription. Due to upgrading and purchasing a new computer I now find I am unable to access "Limewire" as a paid up member.

I tried to contact "Limewire" directly, but am unable to access their support desk as my email address does not seem to be listed with them. Subsequently, I cannot even get a reminder of my password because of this.

Meantime, I have downloaded the basic version but would appreciate advice from anyone on this subject.

Thank you.

Valerie

There are no lifetime limewire memberships...It sounds like you purchased from a scam site....
This sticky will explain more....
ATTENTION: LW Pro users!! Update info!!

Only scam sites advertise LIFETIME Membership. LW official site does not. Look at the whole site, nowhere does it advertise lifetime or free music & video downloads. There's many things scam sites do. One is they take your money, then link you to the basic LW download page. Some scam sites host their own copy of LW, sometimes with spyware, etc. added.
Check your old computer, I am sure you will find it says LW Basic & not pro.

Regardless, 2 years ago LW only offered support & updates for Pro users for a 6 month period. During last month of your support they offer a discount to continue with support. Once the 6 month period finishes your name automatically drops off their systems. Now (very recently) they offer a choice between an extended 12 month period of support or the usual 6 month period.
