Default Burning CD's

Hello,
I am very new to lime wire. I installed it, however when I try and burn something a message comes up to insert blank cd into tray. I do and I keep getting the same message. Dell Computer, Windows Vista. In the past at one point I was able to copy a cd but it would only play on my computer. Any ideas? Thanks for your help. Lenny

1. Only burn onto CD-R's not CD-RW's.
2. Choose to burn at the lowest speed the disk allows.
3. Choose a reliable brand of CD-R to burn with.
4. Better to choose a low speed CD-R disk (eg: speed 1-24) than the high speed disks (up to 52 speed), because some players do not like the high speed disks & especially don't like them burnt at high speeds.
5. Make sure you choose to burn audio type disk, not mp3 disk.
6. Make sure you choose a disk that has never been used before; a new cd-r disk. A CD-R disk can only be burnt once in audio mode. CD-R disks are Write-able once only, not ReWritable.

Default Cd-rw

I only have cd-rw at the moment and the agent with dell is contacting me in the morning at 7 AM. I just don't have the get up and go to go out to the store tonight and get the others. So CD-RW will not work at all. Is that what you are saying.

Yes that's right. CD-RW's will only play in your computer, some dvd players, however some of the very newest cd players can apparently play some. The problem with cd-rw's is they have a very low reflective ability. Too low for the average cd player to detect & read. So yes, CD-RW's is the problem you're having. CD-R's are cheaper anyways. (BTW CD-RW's are made differently & use different compounds that enable them to be burnt & erased, compared to CD-R's.)

Default Burning DVD's

Hi Again and thank you for your help with my last problem. I am now attempting to burn A DVD. It is not working for some reason. I can burn music with no problem now.

I have windows Vista, and the DVD's I am using are Philips DVD-R 4.7 GB 120 MIN 1-16 x speed. I am attempting to burn a Move called Fracture with Anthony Hopkins.

Any ideas please let me know.

Thanks,

Lenny

Lenny, Do you have software to convert the file to DVD format?? Say you downloaded an AVI File well now you will have to convert to DVD to be able to watch on a DVD Player.

When you say it's not working what is happening??

You will also have to have a DVD Burner. You can't burn DVD's with the CD Burner.
