What is and isn't illegal on LimeWire?

I think a good rule of thumb is, if you can buy it, then it is illegal.

Legal sites would be something like this.

Files from here are legal.

+ MagnetMix.com +: The Source for Good Content.

Also Files with a Creative Commons License is fine.

There are other files like Ebooks that are also fine to share, but be sure to always use Bitzi because alot of these if not most are Zip Files that could contain some bad stuff.

Also depends what country you are in. Different jurisdictions, different laws.

I think that broadly, downloading in itself isn't illegal (Unless nasty porn,underage stuff) but when, and if, you come to SHARE said files (Copyrighted) then if it's not in the list remoc just gave (Or personal) it's illegal,unless you have the express permission of the owner !

Say again, SHARING COPYRIGHT FILES IS ILLEGAL in most country's, some files are allowed TO BE SHARED see Remocs explanation.
If you want to be legal don't SHARE, most people believe that the internet should be FREE, all Information shared,if you are interested there are MILLIONS of opinions on this, THOUSANDS of legal battles going on, too many to go into here.
Taping a song from the radio? or TV ? making a copy of music you like for a friend? How many people do you think do this?
