Is Pro worth the difference? HI - I'm an experienced "Limer" but a new post-er. Limewire has never (for me) been as good as Napster or WinMx, but it's been pretty good. Recently, Limewire has really gone downhill - fewer songs coming up, sending me off-site, etc. If I thought Limewire PRO would be as good as WInMX and Napster used to be, I'd be happy to pay, but the "no refund" and no way to try it out first scares me. It would have to be a LOT better than it is now to be worth paying for. Can someone help me out? (BTW, I am not trying to download current hits - older music and classics.) Thanks ! |

The differences between Pro & basic aren't huge. Pro will let you connect to a couple more ultrapeers, so there's the potential for better search results. If you're looking for rare files then you might see more of a difference than if you're looking for mainstream stuff. I haven't noticed any huge improvement. Pro will also let you connect to a few more hosts for download. The max is 14 hosts, if you have a T3 connection. So there's the potential for faster download speeds. Why not keep the basic for now & try using this hostiles list....you might find that it reduces the amount of crap files that you see in your searches & improves the whole experience The TechNutopia Fullsize Hostiles List for BearShare and LimeWire |
