If there isn't a 'next' or 'back' button showing on the setup wizard page...try the advice in the thread below. http://www.gnutellaforums.com/230100-post7.html |

now mine is getting to the section of the installer right after the part where you enter the shared folders and language. the buttons are there, but the installer crashes about .7 seconds after showing that step. |

That's the same problem I'm having... only there aren't any buttons on the part after the shared forlders and language. I can't get past setup to even try running the program... this is really frustrating! |

I got it figured out! I've been searching the forum for like that last 2 hours trying to figure it out and finally found a post on it. http://www.gnutellaforums.com/230100-post7.html You need to change your font size to normal. Right click on an open portion of your desktop then click on properties and go to applications then change the font size to normal. I did this and made it through setup with out problems. Now, if I can just figure out how to use the program I'd be all set LOL. Good luck! |

yeah, so I've changed font sizes, dumped caches, cleaned my registry, removed everything associated with limewire in any way, redownloaded the online and offline installers, and nothing is working for me. this seems almost hopeless. I don't understand what I'm doing wrong here. 3 of the 6 computers I have are hp and windows xp sp2, but none of them are having any trouble whatsoever with LW. I'm willing to give any information that would assist you in assisting me. |

Make sure to use the offline...less chance of any corruption. Try this way & see whether it installs & loads properly: Install Java first. You can either update to the latest version here: Java SE Downloads Or, if you have problems with the latest update, try this older version, which has worked well for lots of people:Archive: Download Java 2 Platform Standard Edition (J2SE) 5.0 Update 11 (if you've already tried the latest Java, give the older version a try & see if that changes anything). Whichever Java version you use, download the JRE offline installer & remove ALL OTHER JAVA VERSIONS (via Add/Remove Programs) before installing another one. Next, download the LW offline installer. When you click to download & a dialog box pops up, cancel it. Now use the option to download the offline installer. Lime Wire » Download LimeWire If you're still stuck, try using the 'other' installer. Click on the link below for info. Installing using the 'other' installer |
