i have tried everything and cant get limewire to work again i have added ports and exceptions even turned off firewall i have xp with zonalarm and avg please help i have added exceptions in windows firewall any help ???????????

What's wrong with LW (not opening, opening but not connecting at all, connected but firewall icon showing etc) & which OS are you using?

im trying to reach technical support. they told me to put in my email address when i purchase. i put my email and they told me it was wrong . i only have one email address on this computer when i purchase it what do i do now

It could be one of two things. Either you have gone past the 6 months technical support Limewire.com offers, which means the email address has been erased from their database. For issues like that, I would suggest going to LimeWire - Open Source P2P File Sharing and asking there.

This is just the Limewire section of the gnutella forums and unless someone affiliated with Limewire sees this, you can't get much of an answer here.

Or you were scammed by some rogue website and didn't buy it from Lime Wire » Official Website & Free Download, BitTorrent « . If that is the case I would suggest the open discussion forum here, which has threads about dealing with scammers.

i have windows xp when i log on it keeps searchin but the funny thing is browswer works i have tried to adjust all comports and exceptions please advise i have zonealarn pro and i was able to use it before i had problems and i dont remember changing anything thanks

So LW searches but no results show??? Is LW connected properly (all green/blue connection bars)?
Providing LW's connected with more than one green bar, try the fixes below.

1. In LW go tools > options > searching > basic & check whether the 'show license warning' box is ticked. If it does, untick it > Apply > ok...see if that makes any difference.

3. Delete LW's preferences folder when LW's properly closed. See point 3 here & also point 2 if you've used older versions of LW in the past (there could be a folder in either location).

This will change all of your settings within LW's options, you'll have to go back through afterwards & reset things to the way you like them.

If LW isn't connected, you need to say so.
