Unhappy HELP! Older Limewire for OS X won't start

I downloaded Limewire for the first time having to go with the older version for OSX because I haven't upgraded since 10.2.8. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling several times and every time I attempt to open the program and begin a search I get a window telling me about a fatal error and then Limewire closes itself. I know this is vague, but can anyone help? Thanks in advance.

Have a look at some of these steps Can't launch LW: Bouncing in Dock (click on link). Not all apply to OSX 10.2, but some do such as repairing permissions.

BTW did you start with OSX 10.1 or 10.2, because I think there might have been something missing from the OSX 10.2 installation. Check the installation disk & see if it has BSD on it. See http://www.gnutellaforums.com/genera...look-here.html

Default 10.1?

I bought the very first flat screen 17" iMac (the one with the swivel neck). I think this was very shortly after OSX was first released. I have since updated with all the free upgrades. Does that make a difference?

I will check these out when I get home. Thanks.

There is a chance you may not have installed BSD. It was an optional install from the installation disk.
