Yes , this may sound strange, but I have lost more files ...


What happpens to the downloads that get "CLEARED"? I cleared a bunch of them , and now cant find them !!!

WHy cant I retrieve the files that are in the library when I go to burn a cd ???

when I go to look for the files in LImewire/shared I dont see them .

they are jsut not there.

with Limewire open , the files were in the Limewire/lib folder ... and then (the rest from previous dl's) were in the a Limewire / shared folder .... BUT when I would go to try to find them I could never find the limewire/lib folder and all of the new files were no where to be found.
I have tried 3 CD burning programs, and they dont reteive the files either .
I went into the Lib folder and cleared the downloads and other files, hoping to move them to maybe the saved folder or the shared folder , but all that happend was they disappeared.

anyone have a guess to where they went?
what happened to them ?

ehh, I found em finally . Sorry for the questions.

I had being trying to find that folder for days ...

I think they are all in there , but I'm not totally sure. will look more.

found them in Program files/Limewire/lib

OMG that's a terrible place to have your downloads going to. If you reinstall or update your LW program, it will erase your downloads.

Normally the default location is C:\Documents and Settings\"your account name"\Shared
You can change the location be going to LW's menu bar, Tools > Options > Saving & press the Browse button

hmmmm, sounds like they would be much safer in another folder and location. the fact that the folders get different names in different locations is a bit confusing. I dont know if its limewire or windows or what , hehehe.

an ongoing problem that happens about every 3 months;LW wont be able to continue dl'ing files making me have to start over.LW will freeze and disconnect itself.i try to close it but no buttons will function making me have to shut it down from task manager.needless to say,restarting a dl from scratch is a pain (if im lucky to find it again that is).thx for whatever help thats provided (btw,im using latest version of pro).

I have no idea how to use this friken site. 1 of my friends told me to come here......and i JUST downloaded limewire......how do u use it?

Katie, What site are you talking about. This is the Gnutella Help Forums. Are you talking about LW. That is a Program not a site. Start off Here. If you have further questions then post back.
