have just downloaded limewire and can search and find songs but they wont download the icon at the bottom left says im behind a firewall but have tried everything like making an exception etc even turning firewall off i also run avg and turned that off as well but it still says im behind a firewall can someone help plz im on vista basic

The d/loading issue may be separate from the firewall one.

If your getting search results, you must be connected to the network.

Try this:
Open LW and go to Tools>Options>Searching>Basic, Tick "Show License Warning" > apply > ok. Then try d/loading something. When the license message pops up, check always use this answer and select yes.

Or try Tools>Options>View>Popups, tick "Revert to Default" click "Apply".

LW maybe able to get through your firewall but you'll get better results if you have it set to allow LW.

thanks 6 pac can download now still says im behind a firewall but is working thanks again

It could be the F/W in your router as I had this trouble too but I set up a service for L/W in the router and the brick wall went away.
