Default Zune replaced windows media player

Hi, this is my first posting.

Windows XP, dsl connection.

Started up Limewire after a couple weeks away. Tried to launch from my library and got a shock; A Zune interface appeared; reorganized my entire library. What's up with that?

Cause for alarm? Or worse?

Go to your LW library, click on Saved Files then click Explore (bottom left). Now your saved folder's open...right click on a file > open with > choose program > select the player you want from the list > tick the box to always use this program to open files of this type > ok.

If that doesn't work, you can change the file types that WMP associates with:
Within WMP go tools > options > file types > tick the formats that you want WMP to play > apply > ok.

Thanks so much, but how is it that Zune suddenly appeared? Was it included in a windows XP update? And does Zune monitor your files?

thanks so much!

Zune's a Microsoft product, but I don't think it would've been installed as a MS update (it's certainly never appeared as an update for me). Maybe somebody else installed it on your computer?? Do you know anyone with a Zune player?
Zune - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I don't use a Zune, but it looks like the software does collect info from your computer - during installation & if you use the Marketplace.
Zune.net | Download Zune software

If you're not going to use the software, uninstall it
