'Your test worked' but cannot connect

Hi Everyone,

I am trying to help a friend with problems connecting Limewire and have asked him to run the test ( http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ ) and it worked. Can someone tell me what this means, i.e. if some things are OK and do not need further investigation, it will help me in looking at those areas which are more likely to be where the problem lies!

What is the current consensus regarding the best version of Java? I have read many posts here and the various versions mentioned all seem to be quite old. Is there a particular 'recent' version that is considered more suited to Limewire than others?

My friend is in US and I am in Australia so it is not so easy but I am waiting for the details of his system as detailed in Provide these details when you post!!! so that if I need further help I will at least have some basic information.
