Which OS are you using?

Are you trying to download a new installer, or reinstall using an installer that you've saved?

What exactly does the error message say?

Try tips 1 - 8 here (click on link): http://www.gnutellaforums.com/333278-post2.html

I'm using Windows XP...I uninstalled it and now I am trying to install it again. It keeps telling me "the connection with the server was rest". I just got a new router (NetGear router) and I was having problems with that. I called them and they told me that my router couldn't configure with Windows XP so they walked me through a ton of steps so that my laptop would be wireless. Ever since I did that, my LimeWire wasn't working so that is when I uninstalled it. I don't even know what they told me to change, it was a bunch of different programs that I've never been in before and they lost me while they were walking me through it.

Which model Netgear router may I ask?

To install LW, use the OFFLINE installer. You can find a link to download it from the link Birdy gave above. You will of course also need to install Java or an updated version which is why it's best to follow the technique in the above link birdy gave.

Which browser are you using?

Try using a different browser & see whether that makes any difference.

Yes

Try using Firefox (it's another browser) & see whether anything changes.

Ok so I downloaded the firefox browser and it works...but when I go to LimeWire and download the basic version, it ask me if I want to save the file. I say yes and then it tells me that it can't be saved because the "source file can not be read". Then it says try again later or contact the server administrator.

Are you using the download link within the help thread in post #2?

If that's the link you're using, try downloading from this page instead (click on the green 'get basic' button): Download LimeWire 5.3.6 - Lime Wire
