Default Getting the downloads to play.

Hi,
New to using Limewire. Apologies if this has been answered before.

I've got Limewire installed successfully on my Windows XP machine.
I've used it to locate and download a movie, got the message 'downloading' and saw it had completed and gone into the folder I created.

However I cannot get it to play. It's a .mov file.

VLC wont play it, nor will real player, nor windows media player.
The file will either not open at all or alternatively open with no video or sound and run across the progress bar in about 1 sec.

Any suggestions please.

Thanks,
Mychael

.mov format is similar to avi in that the actual file encoding inside it could be anything.
We normally recommend staying away from .mov files as most are spam, and usually porn spam (ie: named to what you are looking for.) And it's my guess the file size of the file you downloaded is less than 50 MB.

Advice: 1. Movie download issues (click on blue link) (2nd last post has information on best video formats.) and also 2. How to find music which applies to searching for videos also.

Thanks for reply. It was bigger then 50MB but did say it was a .mov file.
Nothing I found for the show I wanted was anything other then .mov file.

Most likely spam though I'd suggest of some nature. Using Bitzi is wise to find out if the file is good or not. How to use Bitzi Web Lookup ...
