These volunteers keep the board organized and moving. Moderators are authorized to: (in order of increasing severity) Move posts to the correct forums. Many times, members post in the wrong forum. These off-topic posts may impede the normal operation of the forum. Edit posts. Moderators will edit posts that are offensive or break any of the House Rules. Delete posts. Posts that cannot be edited to comply with the House Rules will be deleted. Restrict members. This is one of the last punishments before a member is banned. Restrictions may include placing all new posts in a moderation queue or temporarily banning the offender. Ban members. The most severe punishment. Three or more moderators or administrators must agree to the ban for this action to occur. Banning is reserved for very severe offenses and members who, after many warnings, fail to comply with the House Rules. Banning is permanent. Bans cannot be removed by the moderators and probably won't be removed by the administration. The Rules 1. Warez, copyright violation, or any other illegal activity may NOT be linked or expressed in any form. Topics discussing techniques for violating these laws and messages containing locations of web sites or other servers hosting illegal content will be silently removed. Multiple offenses will result in consequences. File names are not required to discuss your issues. If filenames are copyright then do not belong on these forums & will be edited out or post removed. Picture sample attachments in posts must not include copyright infringement. 2. Spamming and excessive advertising will not be tolerated. Commercial advertising is not allowed in any form, including using in signatures. 3. There will be no excessive use of profanity in any forum. 4. There will be no racial, ethnic, or gender based insults, or any other personal attacks. 5. Pictures may be attached to posts and signatures if they are not sexually explicit or offensive. Picture sample attachments in posts must not include copyright infringement. 6. Remember to post in the correct forum. Take your time to look at other threads and see where your post will go. If your post is placed in the wrong forum it will be moved by a moderator. There are specific Gnutella Client sections for LimeWire, Phex, FrostWire, BearShare, Gnucleus, Morpheus, and many more. Please choose the correct section for your problem. 7. If you see a post in the wrong forum or in violation of the House Rules, please contact a moderator via Private Message or the "Report this post to a moderator" link at the bottom of every post. Please do not respond directly to the member - a moderator will do what is required. 8. Any impersonation of a forum member in any mode of communication is strictly prohibited and will result in banning. 9. Multiple copies of the same post will not be tolerated. Post your question, comment, or complaint only once. There is no need to express yourself more than once. Duplicate posts will be deleted with little or no warning. Keep in mind a forum censor may temporarily automatically hold up your post, if you do not see your post, do not post again, it will be dealt with by a moderator within a reasonable time. Authors of multiple copies of same post may be dealt with by moderators within their discrete judgment at the time which may result in warning or infraction points, depending on severity as adjudged by the moderators online. 10. Posts should have descriptive topics. Vague titles such as "Help!", "Why?", and the like may not get enough attention to the contents. 11. Do not divulge anyone's personal information in the forum, not even your own. This includes e-mail addresses, IP addresses, age, house address, and any other distinguishing information. Don´t use eMail addresses in your nick. Reiterating, do not post your email address in posts. This is for your own protection. 12. Signatures may be used as long as they are not offensive or sexually explicit or used for commercial advertising. Commercial weblinks cannot be used under any circumstances and will result in an immediate ban. 13. Dual accounts are not allowed. Cannot explain this more simply. Attempts to set up dual accounts will most likely result in a banning of all forum accounts. 14. Video links may only be posted after you have a tally of two forum posts. Video link posting with less than a 2 post tally are considered as spam. Video link posting with less than a 2 post tally are considered as spam. 15. Failure to show that you have read the forum rules may result in forum rules breach infraction points or warnings awarded against you which may later total up to an automatic temporary or permanent ban. Supplying system details is a prerequisite in most cases, particularly with connection or installation issues. Violation of any of these rules will bring consequences, determined on a case-by-case basis. Thank You! Thanks for taking the time to read these forum guidelines. We hope your visit is helpful and mutually beneficial to the entire community. |

NO LUCK Same Issues, I went to Firewall Settings and Limewire Is an Allowed Program.. I Had No Idea it would be this Much BS just to get the program that alot seem to be running with no problem.. I have It JUST WONT Connect I have Spent a Few hours and Trys Shut downs Restarts, on off in and out of limewire Using the Instructed dowload... NO LUCK AT All... About to give up.. Any Advice, Is is Becuase Windows 7.. But Remember back when I had OG Limewire like 8 years ago Connecting Was a Big PAIN as Well. I have a PErfect Internet Connect and Everything I DONT UNDERSTAND! ANY HELP !? PLEASE? |

For Windows 7, you MUST set Java to Run As Administrator. Otherwise LW will not connect. You can achieve this easily for LimeWire by right-clicking the short-cut on desktop. But for Java, it would probably be easier to reinstall Java 1.6 (Java 6). Right-click the Java 1.6 installer and choose Run as Administrator. See how things go for connecting after that. Download the Java 1.6 installer and then follow the prior instructions: Direct Java offline download link (Please note, LW5/LPE do not run with the present version of Java 1.7.) |

I will try the link Alright I will Try this Link.. you Posted, Thanks for The Help. I am Pretty good with Computers, But not so good with the Technical Stuff Programs and Software Etc. How they work together Etc.. So Excuse the lack of knowledge on this topic and maybe easy or obvious Questions for some.. I have bearshare now Cuz I kinda Gave up on the Limewire after much frustration.. Not sure What is Better..? |

Alright.. so I Downloaded The Java Link that You provided.. But a Little Confused about the First Line or Two in your Reply Above.. "You can achieve this easily for LimeWire by right-clicking the short-cut on desktop. But for Java, it would probably be easier to reinstall Java 1.6 (Java 6). Right-click the Java 1.6 installer and choose Run as Administrator." Are you Saying right Click on The Shortcut for What..? Limewire? Then Click Run as Administrator on the Limewire Shortcut After Installing the JAva Link provided.? I assume this is What you meant, as there is no Java Shortcut/Desktop Icon. |
| |||
Moved the JAva Link Download that you sent to the Desktop and Right clicked and Set run as Admin. Then Opened Limewire.. Becuase Setting LW as Admin Did Nothing.. So trying Both Running as Admin Neither Worked.. Justg Tried Java as Admin.. Then Just Opened LW about 8 Minutes ago and still same Issue "Connecting...." I dont Get why This has been So Much trouble for me.. |

Had I Known you were So Sensitive I would Have used Really Super Nice Words and inserted a smiley face or two, to ensure to you I was friendly, and adhere to the sensitivity. Didnt Think I had to use a Smiley Faces as I thought we were adults and could communicate on a serious Level. Last edited by findya455; February 1st, 2012 at 09:12 PM. |

Here we go Typically of Forum Sites... All the BIG BAD Boys Who think they Have Accomplished something With There Long time Membership Picking on the New guy..lol So Typical. When In reality most of Ya'll are Burger King employees, Why I am Quiting this Forum After My first post. And I am sure I will get A reply to this Something Like this: "Actually I run My own Business and or CEO and have a Masters or Doctorate.. Or something along those lines.. To try and prove my Above statement wrong. Now The attitude HAS come out. All I asked was a simple question, had someone nice enough to answer but then I ellaborated with a follow question to his reply becuase I truly didnt know, as you can see I am new and Explained I am New to this.. So I was Even pointing out that I am illiterate on this subject.. Guess he didnt Get it and took it as an Attitude. IF Lord of The Rings Was "Done" And sensed a True attitude then the Adult thing to do was not to reply at all. If he truly felt an Attitude. Instead he Assumed I had an Attitude and Stirred up %$#. (oh so Often in these forums.) If I had been a member here for sometime and Not the NEW Guy, the users above would have been a little nicer... Users Who gang up on New Users ALWAYS Hault the forums ability to grow! I Know the Moderators see this, unless they are part of this as well. Always good to welcome new members, Instead of acting like in High School or Middle School and Trying to look Cool in bunches and Push people out of here. First Post and I am gone. |
