Unhappy Need Help with Zone Alarm

Hi Everyone!

I’ve been using Limewire for a long time, but since I have updated the version I have not been able to solve my firewall problem. Please could someone give me some advise??

I’m using ‘Zone Alarm’ and trying to “add An Exception For The LimeWire Program” and “Add An Exception For The Gnutella Port”

When I open Zone alarm and click on firewall, I have the option to add, delete or edit. When I click ‘add’ I get the following options:
Host/Site
IP Address
IP Range
Subnet

I don’t know which one to pick and what to put in there. I put www.limewire in the host/site option and it found and entered the IP address automatically but the firewall still remains.

I also found the listening port number
as per instructions -= but I do not know where to enter this number to be able to “Add the port specified in LimeWire's settings as an exception for both UDP and TCP, incoming and outgoing (also known as opening the port)

If anyone could help me out I would be very grateful

Cheers

Andy

Ok this is the instructions for ZA and LW...
Port Forwarding for the Dlink DI-604 (it should read zonealarm firewall ??)

But you may also have a Nat Firewall in your modem/router can you supply these details please...

Default modem details

Hi,

Thanks for trying to help me. The modem that I am using is From Tiscali Broadband and is ‘SpeedTouch 330’

I have only managed to use Limewire with this modem once (not sure how I managed that). I think that it could be the problem as even when I shut down zone alarm there is still a fire wall showing on limewire.

I’m also using XP and limewire 4.12

Thanks again

Andy

Ahhh Tiscali could more than likely be your problem as they are known to shape p2p...

You could try changing your ports in limewire to something between 49152 up to 65535 and see if that helps...

Afaik your router doesn't have a Nat firewall...
