Default How to create a New Thread; Your First post .. how to start it. And how to find your posts

Find the section of the forum that most suits your topic. And double-check by looking at the short description of the purpose of the forum section just near the top of the page. eg: you may see Getting Started Using LimeWire Tips on getting started with LimeWire. Also a place to seek help getting started.

Then find and press the New Thread button just below that description to the far left of the page near the top. This will allow you to create your own new thread. Of course, you should detail your thread as to your problem, details of your computer system, etc. Newbie's Guide To Writing A Good Thread (click on blue link) and for system details: System details - help us to help you (click on blue link) and post in accordance with the Gnutella Forum RULES.

Before you post a new thread, do a forum search to see if a similar problem has not been previously answered using forum search function & checking forum section posts, and if there are red Sticky's at the top of the forum section, then be sure you have had a look to see if there's no previous answer to your issue. Example of a Sticky: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/open-d...sion-help.html. Stickies are answers to commonly asked questions.

Just a note: After posting a new thread or a post reply and you see a note that says 'Your post may be held in queue for Moderation', be patient! It means your post has been sent but is being held to be first checked by a moderator for approval before it can be seen in the forum. So PLEASE do not repeat your post. It will eventually be seen by other members within hours at the very least.

For those people having problems finding their posts after returning to the forums, Click on the User CP button top right of window & it will take you to your User Control Panel. This should show all your subscribed threads. For older subscribed threads, click on the Subscriptions tab down the side of your control panel. Example image below:

Default One extra way of thanking helpers on these forums

One extra way of thanking a member who helps you on the forums (remember they do this for free in their spare time purely as volunteers), is to give them Reputation via an icon button on their helpful post reply to you. By clicking that particular post it will record 'which' post it was that you were giving them the reputation for so they can simply click on the link in their User Control Panel. They will also see the comments if any given in their User CP.
