Are you using DOS or UNIX or AMEGA .. what the heck .. are we supposed to guess? The forum rules are simple & are there for a reason so we don't play guessing games & waste a lot of our & your time. Try this approach: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/333278-post2.html Edit: for mac, please specify your OSX version, and check which java version you have which can be found via the Java preferences: Setting up Java for Leopard (see 2nd image). You need Java 6 (preferably 64-bit but if you have 32 bit that will work.) |

Problems installing Limewire for Mac I previously had Limewire 4 which worked well and I had no problems using it. I only purchased Limewire Pro for Mac to better the programme and not make it disappear and not function. The installation was carried out successfully, however, everytime I try to access the programme the icon simply disappears from my toolbar, without any explanation. I have paid for this update and would like to know what's happening - can someone please help? |

Make sure all your OSX updates are up to date. And do safe boot & repair permissions: SAFE Boot & Repair Permissions Personally I had an issue of LW 5 not working in any account for about 4-5 months or so. Not sure how or why I was able to get it working whether it was an OSX update or reinstallation of OSX clean install after backing up all my files. Generally it's some kind of issue with Java being partly broken for some reason; perhaps with the original Java 6 installation. |

I had been using Limewire for some time then all of a sudden it stopped working, by this I meant that the GUI did nothing! This was caused by a JAVA update. To resolve this for Limewire and Frostwire I removed JAVA/J2SE updates (all of them) via the control panel, removed Limewire/Frostwire...rebooted and then from Java site reinstalled JAVA and download latest version of Limewire....piece of cake and took about 10 mins Last edited by ewen; November 20th, 2009 at 07:04 AM. |
