Wouldn't be some nasty pics (lolitas etc.?).
If the complaint is justified, then you do something wrong.
Otherwise your ISP shouldn't worry that you share files, nevermind somebody ringing them up.
Could be someone who doesn't like you, for whatever reason.

-It would have to be someone on the Gnutella network who called them, right?
I mean, who else could it be?

It's not that hard to do though, since your current IP address is displayed on Gnotella. All a guy has to do then, is to enter your adress into an IP address search engine, and send a complaint to the ISP which pops up. They will then(maybe) contact you.

I think it's weird that they called you though, 'cause I'm quite sure that if I really genuinely needed to report an IP at some point, his/her ISP would probably do nothing....

Default this is the email they sent

Mr. _______, per our conversation, RR has received a complaint from the
Motion Picture Association of America, Inc. on behalf of their clients
(motion picture production and distribution companies) regarding the
unauthorized distribution of a number of copyrighted motion pictures. RR has
identified the source of said violation by tracing the IP address back to you.

Such copyright violations are also considered abuse of RR's Acceptable Use
Policy (AUP). If you will reply to this message that you have read and
understand RR's AUP (posted online) and that you agree to comply with it in
the future, I''ll close my file on this matter.

If you have questions for the MPAA, you may call their anti-piracy operation
at (818)726-8127 or email them at MPAA23@pacbell.net

Thank you for your prompt attention to this, Mr. ________

my guess they are looking at what is on here and who has what

I'd ask your ISP first to forward a copy of their letter to you to make sure it's legit.

Then you can always go the Napster route and tell them you'll be happy to remove the offending material when they supply you with a list of items and provide you with proof that they own the copyrights to them....LOL
