I am a new user to Gnotella.

There are two questions i will ask.

Q1 --
I have spend an entire day trying to find some software.
In my time searching, I have notices a great deal of bytes being exchanged between my machine and other,yet I may be only searching for one or two files.

Effectively I haven't downloaded anything yet, the incomming data is still quite high.
More of a concern - is that there is alot of out going data.
Why is this so?

If somebody is searching my systems and I - as of yet dont have any files to share, why is there so much data trying to get out?

Q 2 --
Gnutella screen up test revieled to me that my 139 port is open and several of my private names are viewable. Is some body trying to hack into my system?
