Gnotella F***ed up my comp

First off, Gnotella is NOT compatible with the litestep version i have, b/c once i minimized it the first time i ran it, it A)didnt have taskbar icon so i can dclick it and bring it up nor B)run in the task list so i had to reboot into explorer to get the damn thing to show up.. but heres the REAL problem...

I think a .dll or something messed up my tcp/ip connections, cuz after i have installed it, my Counterstrike net play has gone to **** (3000 ping on a campus T1 - with no problems in lan play) AND i cannot send files over AOL-IM anymore.

Anyone have ANY suggestion as to what i can do? i tried unistalling it, and also getting rid of all key values in the registry. im gonna try reinstalling it and see what happens to it.
thanx

The problem with Gnotella not connecting is related to the default host used by 1.0.0 not operating any longer, there are many others that operate. There is also a new beta version available at http://www.gnotella.com/beta that solves this problem.

In terms it messing up your computer that seems extremely unlikely as it does not touch any system files that the programs you mention use. I was wondering, if it might be more likely that the Campus T1 you mention has possibly picked up a little activity in the past few days as I imagine an influx of students around this time have bombarded it with a large amount of data. You can also view the exact files Gnotella installed in the uninsXXX.dat file in the Gnotella directory.

The Litestep tray icon problem is hopefully addressed in the beta I mentioned previously as well.
