Angry Gnotella crashes in WinXP

I installed Windows XP and now Gnotella 1.0.5 does not work. It opens fine, findes the hosts, and even finds "hits" when I search. But after a few moments, I get the "Gnotella must close now" window and then it shuts down. I don't have any idea why it's doing this and tells me it has an unhandled exception. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know. Thank you for your time.

If you have firewall such as ZoneAlarm, you may have to disable it.

But that connot be the reason, because I have no firewall and Gnotella does the same.

Default WinXP...

I got the same problem here... but if I disable Windows XP Visual Theme for Gnotella (in the properties of Gnotella shortcut), it works fine!

Smile Windows XP Crashed -- but fixed!

Thanks for the fix -- disabling visual themes in the shortcut. That did the trick for me as well!!

I was able to instantly crash Gnotella 1.0.5 in XP by adjusting the size of the file column in the down window. However, I found that it crashed every now and then, regardless. Disabling theme fixed it. Give that person a cigar!! And horray for this forum!

John014: try resizing the file column in the down window. That's where I was getting it to crash every time, all the time. I tired the "themes fix" and it seemed OK, but now I am finding it crashes at random.
