Question Installation: Change system files?

Well I was trying to install Gnotella and then it gave me a message that said "Setup cannot continue because some system files are out of date on your system. Click OK if you would like setup to update these files for you now." etc. etc. What I'm wondering is, which files exactly are these? Are they gonna change my computer?? Somebody help me, i don't wanna screw up my comp!!

They're probably Visual Basic Runtime files.

Same installation error...
I click OK, reboot, rerun setup and get the same error message again. no number of reboots does the trick.
I also tried simply decompressing the cab and running the setup program. That tells me I have invalid command line parameters.
Finally, I tried running 'gnotella.exe' from the cab file - it works, but i get some random active x errors.

They're files used by Gnotella to interact with Windows and the Internet. Updating them shouldn't cause any problems.

Were you using the full installation or the upgrade of Gnotella?

Talking

The installation I was having trouble with was the full install (not the upgrade) for 0.70 which was approximately 3mb zipped. This morning, I tried reinstalling with the new 0.73 executable and it worked beautifully. Everything seems to be currently resolved on my system...
