I have downloaded and saved Gnotella to my hard drive. Now I can not open it - my computer is asking me what application I want to use to unzip the file. Any advice on this - i thought you just click and open Gnotella and use it?

You need to unzip the gnotella file you downloaded in order to run the "setup" file and install the program on your computer to use it. I used PkZip for Windows to unzip the gnotella file. You can download this program for free at http://www.pkware.com. Hope this helps

make sure your also getting the latest Version out 0.73 which is in the .exe format
