Question Can't connect with this or any such gnutella clone

I can't seem to get Gnotella (or other such programs) to connect to the web - It keeps trying IP address after IP address, and none seem to connect. I'm pretty sure it's installed correctly. I have a DSL connection that works fine, although that connection gets spotty itself, it seems, when I use one of these Gnutella clones - sometimes after playing with Gnotella I can't get any response from my DSL connection at all for a few minutes, and then it's back up again. Sometimes, after trying dozens of IP addresses Gnotella gets one or two connected briefly, but it just as quickly disconnects. Any ideas? I have three computers all sharing my DSL line with a NAT program called Sygate, by the way...

if you are behind a NAT firewall you must use the "Force IP Local to:" in the config page.

I tried that - I put my IP address (as given to me by my DSL provider). Still nothing...

Hmm, odd, everyone else I talked to that uses NAT have been able to get it to work that way. I run one at work and at home with no problem.

It could be some misconfiguration with the NAT software itself, all of the ones that I have worked on are using Linux/ipchains.

Also, what IP range are you using for your internal network. (Tho as long as they are on the same subnet it should work fine)

The computer I'm trying to gte Gnotella to run on is the "server" computer for the NAT - it's the one connected to the DSL line - so it isnt behind a firewall, right? The other two computers on my mini network are the ones that are sharing the DSL line. The NAT software assigns them IP addresses - I don't do it myself, but I think they're in the range 192.128.0.x, where x is 1 and 2. I just tried to run Gnotella, and once again it sat there, trying to make three socket connections, doing nothing. Even when it does make (brief) connections, after 30 seconds or so each one just disappears... Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated. I had no idea copyright infringement would be so difficult!
