Shared File Initialization
 

I noticed you change the icon in the taskbar to indicate your working on the shared file list. because this process can take a lot of time it seems that displaying the currently being worked dir instead would give the user an indication of where in the list you are processing.

It also provides a visual mechanism that Gnotella is not hung.
