Resizing

You can't resize it like other windows, nor can you select restore from the status bar. If there isn't a way, this would be a definite must have in the next version!"

"You can stretch it by grabbing the little tab in the lower right corner and drag it out to the wanted size.
If you minimize it, you can rightclick on the icon in systray, and click on Restore. That will restore the window to maximized, or the size you first set it to."

I think GnotMan misunderstood TazBean's problem, which I'm having too!!! There is no "little tab in the lower right corner". The window is either maximized or minimized. The double pointed resize cursor arrow will not appear at the edges of the window. The resize command changes the cursor to four arrow points but fails to grab the edges of the window. It's either full screen or minimized. Please help if you can! LOL This bothers the whiz outta me! Thanks in advance.

If things seem to have gone a little screwy, the you could try editing the gnotella.ini initialization file.

Ensure Gnotella is NOT running, then follow these steps:

Use Windows Explorer to navigate your way to the Gnotella installation folder (usually c:\program files\gnotella by default).

Just to be on the safe side, use explorer to make a copy of the file in case of any screw ups.

Next, double-click on the gnotella.ini file to get Windows to open it up with Notepad.

Look for the line that reads StartPosition within the [General GUI] block.

This line will be set to something like

StartPosition=max or
StartPosition=n;n;n;n (Where n=size/positional numbers) or
StartPosition=min

Modify the line to read
StartPosition=1000;1000;1000;1000

Also, to be safe, look for the Skinning entry in the same block and ensure it's set to FALSE:

Skinning=false

Now, save the file and exit out of Notepad and fire up Gnotella.

You should see it running in a very small Window somewhere near the top left hand part of the screen. You should be able to move the Window borders normally now. Any size you change it to will be saved in the INI file so you should only need to perform this step once.

In addition, if you were using custom skins previously, you will need to reapply the skin again.
