can only connect to commercial provider....whats up?

Gnotella will only connect to some commercial provider in network section, no matter how many times I disconnect the selected provider they still come back .....whats up? I try to connect to add the other networks but nothing. ideas??

I'm having the same problem. The only way I can connect is through hostcache.com. Also, when I search for something, nothing comes up. I had some problems earlier with my windows socket not binding. Would this contribute to the connection trouble?

Hmmm.... I seem to be having a bit of a different problem. I’m connected to 2 connection both say unknown servers-0 hosts visible I’m also not able to search or let any downloads from me its like im there but im not. I can down load a few files at a time but at a slow bandwidth doesn’t matter if its 2-100 same speed. Maybe that is because it’s so busy but Im on here Sunday morning.
Any clues?
Also I tried the fix no luck.

Is the Gnotella-Network down?

Hello - i had the same problem. no connection to any host - only a commercial provider and a clip host server - no others. then i tryed to add the "gnutella-again.hostscache.com" link and now it works - there are other hosts - try it! Perhaps there are any problems with the gnot-network?

Re: Is the Gnotella-Network down?

I also had connection problems the last couple of days. I downloaded a new hosts.txt file and I could run Gnotella normally again. And I did it a few hours ago, therefore the network is not down.
You can download the hosts.txt file from http://www.gnotella.com/helpfile/connectproblem.phtml and you can find more info on Gnotella Forums.

It Works!

Thanks, Ivan. It all goes Ok right now. Difficult to find the path to the new hosts.txt file, cause in gnutella.com forums, the problem is in the forums but not The link. I Suppose this's not a generalized problem to post a more direct link on gnotella home pages, but thats complaining about a grain of sand now that the problem is solved. Thx again!

Yep, the new server fixed mine. I downloaded the new hosts.txt file just in case though. I've been about to pull my hair out since yesterday, but I'm happy again.

Nothing of that helped me :(
I still got like time outs, stay 10 seconds in uptime and then disconnected.
