Tell us more about the gnucleus version you are using and your system configuration !! Actual Gnucleus version is 1.7.7 |
re: RTF Control Hi, thanks for writing. The version of Gnucleus is Gnucleus LAN. I've also tried the Morpheus PE edition and Bodetella. I'm not sure what the systems configuration is. I'll have to check and come back later. I'm thinking about just downloading every P2P I can find and hope something works. I don't know what's wrong. Thanks, Rick |
I have taken two blank hard drives on two completely different systems, put windows 98 SE on them, connected to the net via modem, downloaded gnucleus and it works fine. you may be in need of a DLL or something that got removed with something else, any chance you can reinstall windows? It works great with a new system, with nothing on it and nothing installed then removed, so I think you are missing something that is installed when you install windows. |
this may give you a clue, if you removed a program that deals with rtf files, maybe it removed a dll? Rich Text Format (RTF) The Rich Text Format (RTF) Specification is a method of encoding formatted text and graphics for easy transfer between applications. Currently, users depend on special translation software to move word-processing documents between different MS-DOS®, Windows, OS/2, Macintosh, and Power Macintosh applications. The RTF Specification provides a format for text and graphics interchange that can be used with different output devices, operating environments, and operating systems. RTF uses the ANSI, PC-8, Macintosh, or IBM PC character set to control the representation and formatting of a document, both on the screen and in print. With the RTF Specification, documents created under different operating systems and with different software applications can be transferred between those operating systems and applications. RTF files created in Word 6.0 (and later) for the Macintosh and Power Macintosh have a file type of "RTF." |
http://members.aol.com/ukandrewc/rtftext/features.htm "Need to edit RTF in your application? The control is based on the popular richedit class. It adds all the essential functionality to create a complete embedded RTF word processor. " I suspect that gnucleus is using a class for rich edit (not this particular one) to display some text or help text and that may be in a dll on most systems. Try installing ms word and adobe pdf reader again |
