2.0.2.0

Hi,

I've seen something weird in the downloads.....
I was downloading some files, when i noticed that a few files keep returning to a previous completed state....
I had a file, downloaded 84.000 KB so far, when suddenly it jumped back to 58.000.
I saw it happen with a few other files too...

Anyone have an explanation for that?

Salut Tarara, it is Tiger Tree Hasing or TTH in action. In short, if a part of the download is corrupted, Gnucleus will know it before the file is totally downloaded and it will attempt to download the fragment of the file again.

Also please update your version of Gnucleus to the new builds that are found there; http://gnucleus.com/betagnuc/index.php
These new builds might reduce the problem you noticed.

Bonne chance ;)

Hi et voilą,

Thanks for the info. Didn't know that. But the files I was talking about kept on returning to previous completed size, and I had to stop them. They where only taking up bandwith.
And for the link..... gonna try this update and see if it makes a difference.
Thanks again :)

Completed data downloaded amount dropping with each new host

I downloaded 2.0.2.0 which immediately evolved itself to version 2.0.9.0.

My completed download data amount loses 2000k or so everytime it connects to a new source host.

I tried disabling multi-source downloading, as everytime my client would drop one of its 4-7 hosts and pick up a new one, it would lose about 2000k of completed data. I went from 10,000k to about 5400k before I disabled this feature.

Now I'm downloading at a 10th of the speed from one host at a time, and when it switches hosts I still lose 2000k.

I tried downloading other files in an effort to rule out a corrupted file, but this happens with every file I download.

Honestly, at this rate I'll never complete a download.

I've got a DSL connection and a static IP.

Please help!
