What are you trying to change it to? I be all for it if swabby added a lower limit to prevent abuse.

Glad about that... tired of being hammered with 10 - 15 second retires from Gnucleus servents.

if you want to get a file then share some files

if you are trying to get a file then share a file too because i know that one of you people out there has the file i am looking for and i probley have the file you are looking for so if you get a retry request and stop people from downloading then that is just plain mean

and if you don't want people downloading from you then turn file uploads on your client off and they shouldnt list if they do then swabby and others have a little problem on their hands!!!!

so thats why so many non working downloadables don't go when you click on them!!!!

Um, the person *IS* sharing files or they wouldn't be getting retries.

There's only so much upload bandwidth to go around, and once all your upload slots are full you'll get retries. Increasing the upload slots too high doesn't help - it just makes everyone's transfers so slow that no one will download sucessfully from you.

What hurts is when some luser decides to hammer a busy peer every few seconds trying to download. that just eats up bandwidth for everyone.
