Default Full-file Hashes (FFHP) v.0.9

Will you be adding support for theFull-file Hashes (FFHP) v.0.9 protocol in the next version?

This is a proposal and has not been implemented or accepted by any client on the gnutella network.

We are still discussing hashing over gnutella.

Simultaneous downloads are completely possible without hashing.

so the next question is:

"are planning on implementing multiple host downloading?"

Crossing my fingers ;-)

It is compatible with older clients and by BS implementing it many other clients would soon follow and maybe the bickering at the GDF could be overcome. If there are problems with the current file hash protocol they can be changed later but by implementing the protocol now gnutella could move forward by leaps and bounds.

Vinnie seems to agree. For a discussion of file hashes at the BS forums click here.

I saw "improved file hashing" as one of the improvements in 1.4.3. Does gnucleus support file hashes?

No, major improvements to the network hash system were made.

This system is what gnucleus uses to route packets. Ever since I implemented it, Query Hit efficiency has gone up to near 100%, which is much better than 80.
