Default cache stuck at 45.87% and will not connect

O.k running XP with SP2. I've downloaded the patch to open the connections back up to 50. Did this on my personal comp. about a year ago and that fixed this. This is on a buddy of mines laptop. I've searched and can't find anyway to fix it. Also this happened on another friend of mines laptop. It stayed at 45.87% I could not get it to connect. Then I went back a week later and it worked. Anyway's I need help

Thanks

all you need is to add a node you know that is connected to the internet. Per exemple you could enter you friend IP: port

Of course you should be sure to run the latest Gnucleus version as it normally should work without your intervention (current is 2.2.0.0)

Ciao

sorry man you lost me. confused: Here's some more info two laptops sitting next to each other both have 2.2.0.0 installed one of which I installed a month ago and it worked fine on the same wireless network that one connects the other doesn't. Also I dropped the XP firewall for kicks and still nothing. It's allowing Gnucleus anyway's.

Thanks

Hello,

I'm having a similar problem connecting to the gnutella networks over a wireless network. I've tried in two separate locations; one in Northern Florida and the other in Southern Florida, and the exact same issue occurs; this one.

The cache is no longer stuck at 45.87 percent; every time I close and reopen Gnucleus the percent goes up approximately .13 percent, and I cannot connect.

This network is on a linksys wireless router, and the other is on a sisco wireless router. The computers in northern florida use Norton Internet Security, and in southern florida one uses McAfee and the other uses the microsoft xp firewall.

All of the computers run WinXP SP2. What's strange is that this problem has not occurred in my dorm room on a regular connection or at my home in New York on a regular connection. Is this something limited to wireless network configurations?

Could someone provide some help? Much appreciated.

Hi,

I am having the same problem connecting from a Windows XP (SP 1) that uses a wireless connection to a dlink di-624 router.

It never connects and from the status all the nodes are saying connection refused.

It will not let me chat and I tried adding a node, as I saw someone suggest, not no success.

I have Gnucleus 2.2.0.0 installed on another computer that is Windows XP (SP1) that is wired directly to the same router and it successfully connects to Gnucleus 2.2.0.0.

Any suggestions would be helpful.

Thanks,
Kyle.

I suspect you'd need to manually forward a port for the 2nd computer & use a different port to the 1st computer.

I've had connection problems & also tried adding same nodes that another program had been using mins earlier to no avail (gnutella but not gnucleus nodes.) I'm guessing my problem (win 2k with di-link router) is the router & the firewalling effect is stopping connections. My set up is a little complicated & I can't open a port for this. Not using VPC anyway. It would be wonderful to get this sorted out. If only ...
