firewall? I know there is a way to get around this firewall. I was able to use napster way back when. I know it has to do with the port numbers... But, I need specific instructions on how to do this. When I click on Gnucleus the "connections" box comes up and shows a list of ports and stuff and says something like "cache 2.50%" . Eventually the box says "cache empty" I have a win2000 pro T1 line networked computer at a public school thanks, cyberbag |
As long as your school isnt blocking gnutella, you should be able to connect. Make sure you have gnucleus updated to 1.6.1 first, if it still does not work, reinstall gnucleus. The firewall doesnt stop you from connecting, but it would make it easier for people to connect to you if you forwarded port 6346 from your firewall to your gnucleus client. |
I had 1.3 on. Now I have 1.6. It's almost working. it still won't connect. Chat works, but I haven't been able to get any help. The connection box comes up but it never connects. I doubt gnucleus has been blocked. There's something about forcing a port number... I'm not sure how to do this or if this is what i need to do. HELP! cyberbag |
